The captain told me that--if they were, um, "light"--the aircraft could become airborne with four engines operating. I did not press as to certificated (let alone demonstrated) combinations of same. For instance, with two outboard engines on the starboard wing and two inboard engines on the port wing, is flight attempted? Within what crosswind limitations?
